The Biggest Joke Ever!
Tuesday, 04 August 2009

Image

As some of you already know, we are trying to set a new world record for the world's biggest joke during our summer 2009 tour:

Our tour is 41 shows over 43 days, and we are recording the audience each night saying one word of the joke. Come September, all the audiences and words will be edited together on video to produce, we hope, a joke told by about 30,000 people. You'll be able to see it here, and on youtube, and we'll announce it on facebook and twitter too.

We're on day 10 at the moment and its been going really well, we're up to about 5500 people, but we've got some of the biggest venues to go, so our target is in sight!

So if you're on holiday on a Haven park in August, make sure you turn up for the "Make Em Laugh" night! See you there!

Well, we finished panto on 4th Jan, and we throroughly enjoyed ourselves over there in Shrewsbury. It was a great show and broke all box office records. One review said "Ben Nickless and Goodie & Nick stole the show", which is great, and something of an achievement as we were baddies!! The only drawbacks to the whole thing were our injuries (Nick tore a calf muscle, and then another calf muscle, and Goodie tore a muscle in his chest) which meant we couldn't chuck ourselves around quite as much as we would have liked to. The last night was quite sad, but also a real honour, as it was the last ever show at the Shrewsbury music halls, which is being turned into a museum. Or something.

We made a little documentary about the last day click here to watch the video of the Shrewsbury Music Hall's last ever show.

Last week we did a surprise gig for our good friends Jock & Joy's anniversary. Their daughter had booked us and of course we did it for free as Jock & Joy have done loads for us over the years! It was a really good fun night, especially as they found out during proceedings that they had become grandparents (again)!

Now we're preparing for what is shaping up to be a very busy summer season; The datesheet isn't on here yet as its changing too fast at the minute but we can tell you that we'll be playin every single Haven holiday park during the kids summer holidays, hope to see you all around somewhere!

Robin Hood Shrewsbury Panto Launch
Tuesday, 16 September 2008
shrewsbury panto 2008 launch Phew, what a couple of days we’ve just had! We did a gig at South Bay on Sunday night, then drove straight upto Goodie’s mam & dad’s in the midlands, 5 hours sleep then up and onto Shrewsbury for the press launch of this years panto at the Music Halls. You can read all about it in the Shropshire Star.

And what a special panto its going to be - It is the last one ever at this historic venue - The Shrewsbury Music Halls is going to be converted into an art gallery (or was it a museum?), and future pantos will take place in the brand new Theatre Severn.

Daily Jokes

  • The Mule, The Farmer, and The Mother-In-Law #joke #humor

A newlywed farmer and his wife were visited by her mother, who immediately demanded an inspection of the place. The farmer had genuinely tried to be friendly to his new mother-in-law, hoping that it could be a friendly, non-antagonistic relationship. All to no avail though, as she kept nagging them at every opportunity, demanding changes, offering unwanted advice, and generally making life unbearable to the farmer and his new bride.

While they were walking through the barn, during the forced inspection, the farmer's mule suddenly reared up and kicked the mother-in-law in the head, killing her instantly. It was a shock to all no matter their feelings toward her demanding ways.

At the funeral service a few days later, the farmer stood near the casket and greeted folks as they walked by. The pastor noticed that whenever a woman would whisper something to the farmer, he would nod his head yes and say something. Whenever a man walked by and whispered to the farmer, however, he would shake his head no, and mumble a reply.

Very curious as to this bizarre behavior, the pastor later asked the farmer what that was all about.

The farmer replied, "The women would say, 'What a terrible tragedy' and I would nod my head and say, 'Yes, it was.' The men would then ask, 'Can I borrow that mule?' and I would shake my head and say, 'Can't. It's all booked up for a year.'"
